2016 City Council makes permanent the occupancy rules adopted in 2014

Congratulations. We are happy to report that on March 3, 2016, the City Council voted 9-1-1 to delete the expiration date of the 2014 occupancy ordinance. Councilman Zimmerman abstained and Council member Troxclair voted nay. Thank each of you for bringing about this “win” – for signing the petition, for helping to pass neighborhood association resolutions, for writing the Council members and for those who attended the Council meeting. However, city Planning Department staff and two Council members implied that the current rules will be scrutinized again during the total revision of our Land Development Code currently underway and known as CodeNEXT.
