Council members Tovo and Martinez Sponsor Rental Registration Ordinances on November 21st Council Agenda

Council member Tovo and Council member Martinez are sponsoring three separate rental registration pilot program ordinances and related evaluation program.¬† Each ordinance covers a specific area of the City: the North Austin Civic Association and Rundberg area; the East Riverside/Oltorf area; the Central Austin Neighborhood Planning Advisory Committee, Northfield and Hyde Park neighborhoods They do not address all the impacts of dorm style/ stealth dorm housing —the displacement and destruction of affordable single family homes; the location of multi- family housing in single family neighborhoods or the large number of unrelated occupants currently allowed—-but they help with major problems associated with rental properties. ¬†These pilot rental registration ordinances deserve community support. Email the Mayor and Council. To Email all, go to www.austintexas.gov/mail/all-council-member
